The oil which is obtained through pressing of oil seeds. Although pressing produces heat which must not raise above 49° C is considered to be cold pressed.

The modern methods of oil extraction involves supplying a lot of heat or introducing a chemical solvent to extract most of the oil out of it. The downside is that heating it to such high temperatures alters the actual property of oil molecules and degrade the flavour, colour and nutritional quality. In Industrial refining, one more hazardous process called HYDROGENATION. Due to this process, part of good fat is transformed to bad fat.

But the cold pressed oils retain all their flavour, aroma and nutritional value as it is in the oil seeds. They retain healthy anti-oxidants that are otherwise destroyed by heat. These anti-oxidants fight harmful free radicals and prevent the growth of tumor and other body diseases.

Our previous generation used only these traditional oils extracted from Sekku (cold pressed) and they lived healthy until their age of 80’s. In their time, there were very few diseases but nowadays healthy life time of a human is reduced to the age of 40’s. One out of 10 is having infertility, nine out of ten is facing sugar problems even at young age. 90% of people are facing high blood pressure.

Cold pressed oil has got many powerful therapeutic and medicinal properties This is the most ancient oil used for human consumption. Few of its properties are Anti-diabetic, hypo tensive, anti-depressant, Anti-cancer, anti-aging, detoxifying and improves skin texture. Cold pressed groundnut oil contains essential fatty acid(OMGA-6) making it as one of the healthiest cooking oils.
